Why To Avoid Grains

The biggest myth out there is that "Grains are healthy." Well they're wrong. Simply WRONG. Grains are one of the most damaging thing to your body. Over tens of thousands of years ago, humans were hunter gathers. There were no grains. We are no longer hunter gathers. Grains offer the great majority of their calories in the form of carbohydrate so they cause blood glucose levels to elevate quickly. Grains is basically like eating sugar so its basically a snack everyone eats to much of. People (AKA the "experts" say that grains includes fibers and vitamins. Oh is that right? Well it is true grain contains fibers and vitamins. But what people don't know is that (For an example: A slice of bread) Is that it only contains half a gram of fiber and vitamins in each huge slice. So, think for a second. You are eating bread that is packed with sugar and you're doing it for the fiber. Is all of that sugar worth it for that very small amount of fiber? You can fiber out of much healthier things such as vegetables. Not to mention, bread is filled with gluten.
Many "healthy" things today are not as healthy as people think. This is just one of them. I hope you learned something from this post. Come back to this blog for more information on these sorts of topics.

In school, we need to write a book on a war. I picked the American Civil War. I wrote a chapter on a different point of view on President Abraham Lincoln. When I showed to my teacher for her approval she didn't let me use it because they said it wasn't history. They said my resources were probably written by someone in the South.
Today many U.S Americans think the South was he aggressor of the American Civil War, when really, the North were the aggressors. And that's were we got the saying: They Myth Of Abraham Lincoln.
Abraham Lincoln is thought to be the president who was against slavery and started an entire war that killed thousands and thousands of people just to end it. This is a total myth. President Abraham Lincoln was never against slavery he was all for it. In fact, there were all these laws that PROTECTED slavery.
Also, when Abraham Lincoln was running for office he claimed that he wouldn't harm the South's slaves but his condition was that they continued to pay their taxes and not secede. When Abraham Lincoln was finally elected, he raised the tax on the south.
This infuriated the South. They payed their extremely high taxes and got very little in return. So, the South seceded which they had the right to do.
Abraham Lincoln did not like this. Since the South seceded they were no longer a big government. And that means their government lost a lot of power. Abraham Lincoln declared war. This war killed thousands and thousands of innocent people.
Now you're probably thinking, "But it's good because it was on slavery!" No. Just no. The American Civil War was never about slavery. In fact, here is more evidence for you all how still don't believe me: If you think about it, Abraham Lincoln was actually enslaving the South because slavery does not mean that they weren't payed. It was that they couldn't leave. And the South couldn't leave and neither could the South which shows Lincoln was enslaving them.
Now you know the myth of Lincoln.

Maya's Primal Salad
Maya’s Primal Salad:
- Lettuce - Romaine and Red leaf mix - fill to about ⅔ lunch container.
- Onions - Not too much - diced.
- Red pepper bell - about ¼ average size bell - diced
- cucumber - 1 small cucumber diced (with skin).
- Tomatoes - 3 to 4 small cherry/grape tomatoes - each cut to 4 pieces.
- Garlic - 1 small to medium clove - crushed, then finely chopped.
- Green olives - about 8 olives - each cut in half.
- Greek Feta - crumbled feta cheese sprinkled on top.
- Dressing (see below) - pour about ¼ cup per salad (that’s usually about ⅔ maya’s glass container).
Note: If refrigerated, keep in bottom shelf where it’s warmer.
Maya’s Primal Dressing:
- Freshly squeezed lemons
- Red Wine Vinegar
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Pepper and Salt
Approximate proportions per serving (for any serving size) in %:
- 42% freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 8% Red Wine Vinegar
- 50% Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
- Add pepper - About 6 back and forth twists/spins of grinder per ¼ cup (about 38-40 for full dressing bottle).
- Add salt - About 6 twists/spins of grinder per ¼ cup (about 36 for full dressing bottle).
Instructions: Add above ingredients and stir well in cup or shake well if in bottle. Can modify proportions to taste.
Note about pre-prepared dressing from bottle if used - if it is hardened by refrigeration, let out on counter for about 45 minutes or so until it fully liquefies again. Or you can put in warm/hot water (like warming a baby bottle) to accelerate process. Then, shake well immediately before pouring into Maya’s glass container. Also, it is best to store in bottom shelf or bottom door shelf where it is not too cold.
Incrustations:
- Lettuce
- Remaining ingredients:
- final product
- happy customer
